The business

Metal Haircut is a craft barbershop at 110 E 5th Ave in the Local Collective, Knoxville, run by Samm Ottinger. Clients book through Vagaro, and the site is often the first thing a new client sees.

The problem

The shop had no website. Google showed incomplete information, with nothing to point to for services, prices, hours or booking. New clients found the shop by word of mouth or through the booking app, and there was no single place that said what Metal Haircut is, what it costs and how to get in the chair.

What changed

Holston Studio built the shop's first website: a single page with the services and prices up front, the Vagaro booking link in the first screen, the hours and address where Google can read them and photos of the actual shop and the actual work, in a garage and punk look the owner chose. Alongside the site, Holston Studio created the shop's Google Business Profile, cleaned up its address listings and connected Vagaro booking so that the site, the listing and the booking app all say the same thing.

What the owner can do now

  • Send anyone to one address that has everything: services, prices, hours, photos and booking.
  • Show up on Google with the right name, address, hours and link.
  • Take bookings through Vagaro from the first screen.
  • Update hours and prices. Today the site has no editing system, so hours and prices are updated by Holston Studio on request. Moving the site to the editing system is in progress.
